Springtime Slaughter 2012

Before anything else, I wanted to say hey! Check out THE RETURN of the LIVING DEAD special edition blu ray. Yeah! My pal Dave Gregory put together the documentary on it called “More Brains” and somewhere in that cool madness is some music by yours truly. If you watch it, pay attention and you can hear “Robot Zombie” from the “Morbid Mechanics” CD and “Desporuum Daemonique Infinitum” from the “Cthulhu Rising” CD.

It’s all Horror, all the time. Yeah! Have you heard that before? Well, it remains true. I am still here, working on what I am working on with me, myself and I. From the cryptic studios of Wormfood Horror Media? Yeah! Sure! I am working here from my home studio and loving it. As of late, I have been slaving away to complete a number of literary works.

I have completed the book I intend to call “A collection of Horror by Lucifer Fulci.” All that there is left to do is some editing on the works themselves, some formatting and then the basics of the publishing and then I will unleash this splattery collection of short stories, unfinished works of supernatural mystery, lyrics, poetry and some of the grossest horror that I can shovel together. When it is all together, you will be able to order it from me directly or on a variety of other websites and select stores, etc.

The truth of this collection of horror is this: I often sit down and begin to write a LOT of stuff. I mean, I usually love ideas and get working on them. Somewhere along the line I get writers block or tired of working on one specific thing…or another idea comes along that I start on..this is usually what happens with my writing stuff…I can get music finished much easier. Anyways, I went back thru almost everything that I had begun writing for the past few years and finished up the loose ends…almost. There are some stories that I have included that are unfinished because I know that I will never finish them. They are also presented in such a way that they sort of work like that. All the same, I want to be done with them and retain my new focus on the completion of ideas that are new to me. I am trying to stick to a schedule for everything!

The next book you will be seeing here in 2012 from me is titled “20 Chunkblowers that splattered the world,” which is book about just that. The top 20 splatter films that have turned our stomachs since 1963 and have made horror history. The who’s and what’s, the how’s and the vomit will all be included. There are tons of gory movies, for sure, but that ones really changed us? Which ones changed the genre in some great way? You will see them here. I would say that this book will be finished and on the shelves by Halloween.

The other book that is being worked on as of NOW- again!- is called “Siki City 20666″…what’s this you ask? A SIKI CITY sequel? Well, yes and no…more yes than anything. It is what we often call a REBOOT! Oh yeah! Way back in the day ( the year 2000 or so ), I wrote one of the grossest books of all time…or so I have been told. I liked the idea, etc. But yannow, I got copies back from the publisher and you know what? There were many grammatical errors. I also never truly felt that I finished it the way it was supposed to be. It was also my original intention to include images for each chapter but at the time I did not have anyone that wanted to do it. A decade or so has passed and I am a different writer and demon of horror. While the original publisher apparently will forever own the rights to the original novella, I will be releasing this new mutant of the original idea. The story will remain something of the same monster, but the names have changed, the gore will be doubled ( ! ) and some interesting new surprises will be in the pages for all to enjoy…not to mention some really amazing artwork by Loren G3! Yah! He just sent them to me and WOW. Seriously twisted. You are all going to LOVE this! Stay tuned for terror!

You will also see something called ” A Diary of Sobriety” by David Stashko. Yeah, that’s me by the light of day. It is NOT a self help book. It is just what it says. Unedited. All about sobriety. About a year in the life of me in my second year of sobriety. I thought it might be helpful to others to share a variety of things. I know that I benefit from others when they share…so there it is. It’s not supposed to be scary, but after re-reading some of it, you might consider it a sub genre of horror!

You want to hear about more writing stuff? Okay. This one is funny.

“Norman the Gnome throws a party.” How does that title strike you? Yeah, it’s a kid’s book. It was written a few months ago with the amazing artist called Sarah “Dead Girl” Adams doing the artwork. Yes, that is what she said she would do. Have I seen any artwork yet? Yes, a couple of gnomes here and there, but nothing I can show you yet. Both Sarah and I have and love kids ( not to eat ) and want to give something back in such ways. I know that many people question such works from me, but get used to it. I created the HAIRY HOMINIDS. I have written kids stories before. I will continue to do so. If you cannot fathom such things, just ignore it and get on with the horror!

Other writing stuff? Yeah, I do more than even that. I have been writing for BLOOD FEAST, INC. That’s a cool, old school fanzine out of Ohio created by the morbid one, Mike Salamone. I do reviews and interviews there, and also a cool little column called “The Golden Age of Splatter”. As of this writing, issue 14 is in the works for an April 2012 release. Look it up! It’s awesome. It’s cool. It’s all horror, old school. It would make Chas Balun smile.

Music and melodic morbidity:

I am grateful to know that my last effort, “Evilution” has received as many compliments as it has. I truly love and embrace that collection of horror music for being one of my all time favorite recordings. I still enjoy hearing some of the songs and am attempting to put together a music video for “The Dead Girl”. Time is the restraint, but I am collection some good shots of things here and there. There should be something out to impress in the year 2012.

The next CD is simply titled. “Samhain.” And yeah, that’s the proposed release date, 2012. For now, I have about 8 songs almost completed. This one will contain a variety of musical styles from soundtrack to supernatural metal. I wanted to take the listener on a sonic ride of true terror in all the ways that I know from start to finish. I have also decided to re record 4 songs from my “Ghosts of the Ancient Horizons” CD from 2011 and include them at the end of this CD. I was not happy with the overall sounds of that CD and thought that these songs deserved a new spin. They will be different vocally and musically, but the essence of them shall remain the same. You will hear. The entire CD will include about 15 songs. I am working on this almost every day and have some really wicked sounds to taunt you with. Stay tuned!

Another musical effort that I will be unleashing upon the masses is a split CD effort between me and the amazing Loren G3. We both have about 5 songs a piece that we will be sharing on a singular release. His project, REBIRTH of MERCY is some seriously cool horror/sci fi tinged music that stirs the genre enthusiast inside of me. I am proud to be doing this project, which was originally brainstormed about a few years back. The proposed title is “Red Tenebre” It will be available, like everything else I do, everywhere. CDBaby.com does an amazing job of getting my music out to the world with very little effort on my part.

As always, more and more ideas play out in my head of horror. I look forward to sharing them all with you as time goes on. There are film ideas in there as well, but for now I am sticking to what I know…when the right partners come into play, a film will be made.
